Pastor Gary felt a call to gospel ministry from the time he was 21 years of age. Following a dramatic conversion to Christ in 1976, he attended Walla Walla University to study theology; and he graduated in 1979 with a BA in Theology. He received a call to the Upper Columbia Conference where he had the amazing privilege of serving for a year with Russell Burrell at the Spokane Valley Church. He participated in an evangelistic meeting with the late Joe Crews, and it was there that he gained his appreciation for evangelism and soul winning, which has been a passion throughout his ministry. Pastor Gary then continued his education at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary in Berrien Springs, graduating with an MDiv degree in 1983. He has served the Ephrata and Quincy Churches in Upper Columbia Conference, as well as the Lacey, Bremerton, Belfair, Silverdale and North Cascade Churches in the Washington Conference. He has been the senior pastor of the Auburn City Church since the fall of 2008.Pastor Gary is married to Debbie (Blahak), his wife of 32 years and has three children, -- Jeremy, Jeff and Shari, along with 2 grandchildren, Alex and Jayden. He enjoys snowboarding, wakeboarding, racquetball, hiking and mountain climbing; and in the summer of 2012, he completed his fifth summit of Mt Rainier. He has been having fun serving the Lord in pastoral ministry for the last 33 years, witnessing God’s work in powerful ways in the lives of many people; and Pastor Gary believes that Jesus is coming SOON!
